The Chambers Academy of Irish Dancing will be established in 2019.
The school boasts over 60 years of experience with the teacher and teaching assistants in the school.
Ray Chambers was born in Corby Northamptonshire to parents of Irish Decent. At the age of 11 he started to learn Irish dancing at the local Irish Centre. At the time, his sisters had been competing in competitions and were already dancing at national level placing at the North American Irish Dance Championships.
At the age of 12 with less than two years of dancing, he qualified for the World Irish Dance Championships. After years of determination the teachers in the school have placed at competitions at Local, National and World Level. Ray Chambers achieved 2nd at the Great Britain Championships and 14th at the World Championships.
After years of competing Ray partnered up with a school in Peterborough and achieved success with dancers at National and World Level. Ray has decided to take a step back from this school so that he can focus on making local classes successful and has decided to open up the Chambers Academy of Irish Dancing in Corby Northamptonshire.
Ray, is an academic and believes that with Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve and Talent… You can achieve anything that you dream of. The Chambers Academy of Irish Dancing will be launched principal teacher Ray Chambers and will be supported by teaching assistants Jennifer Chambers, Emma Chambers and his niece Charlie McGhee. With All of this in we aim to teach adults, children and we want to be inclusive of children, whatever their needs. We have experience of working with children with various needs and aim to give children somewhere to go where they can have fun and feel safe.
That being said, we understand that not all children will want to compete in competitions. We aim to keep our classes fun and dancers will still have the opportunity to learn new footwork as well as work on their craft.
